A portable AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) is a device that is designed to give an eclectic shock to the heart muscle to help restore a normal rhythm as a result of a cardiac arrest (this is different to a heart attack - scroll down to see the differences) .
AED's use disposable battery packs and chest pads which need replacing either after use or when past the printed expiry date. Heartsine AED's are unique in that use a Pad-Pak which is a battery and chest pads in one unit with a shelf life in excess of 4 years from new.
